Some trips are memorable. Others leave a lasting impression long after you’ve unpacked your suitcase. My recent eight-day adventure through Ireland was one of those trips I’ll treasure forever.
From charming cities and medieval castles to breathtaking coastal cliffs and unforgettable new friendships, Ireland exceeded every expectation. If you’ve been thinking about visiting the Emerald Isle, let me tell you—it absolutely lives up to the hype.
Eight Incredible Days Across Ireland
Our journey took us through some of Ireland’s most iconic destinations, including:
- Dublin
- Waterford
- Killarney
- The Ring of Kerry
- Blarney Castle
- The Cliffs of Moher
- Bunratty Castle
- Cabra Castle
Every stop offered something unique. One moment we were wandering centuries-old castles, and the next we were touring world-famous breweries and distilleries or admiring postcard-worthy landscapes around every bend.
Kissing the Blarney Stone (Of Course!)
No trip to Ireland would be complete without visiting Blarney Castle. Naturally, I kissed the famous Blarney Stone—because who couldn’t use a little extra gift of gab?
Exploring the castle grounds was just as magical as climbing to the top. The gardens, hidden pathways, and ancient stonework made it feel like stepping into a storybook.
The Cliffs of Moher: Even Better Than the Pictures
Everyone tells you the Cliffs of Moher are spectacular.
They’re right.
Standing at the edge of those towering cliffs while waves crashed far below was one of those moments where photos simply can’t do justice. We were fortunate to have incredible weather, making the views stretch for miles across the Atlantic Ocean.
It was easily one of the highlights of the trip.
Castles, Cathedrals & Irish History
Ireland is filled with history around every corner.
Throughout the week we explored ancient castles, beautiful cathedrals, charming villages, and historic landmarks that each had their own fascinating stories. We also visited the Book of Kells, watched an incredible sheepdog demonstration, and enjoyed a traditional Medieval Dinner at Bunratty Castle that felt like traveling back in time.
Our final evening at Cabra Castle was the perfect ending to an unforgettable adventure. Spending the night in an authentic Irish castle made us all feel like royalty.

Of course, no visit to Ireland would be complete without sampling some local favorites.
We toured the Guinness Storehouse, visited local breweries and distilleries, and enjoyed plenty of authentic Irish food along the way. And yes…Irish butter really is as amazing as everyone says!
Let’s just say our suitcases came home a little heavier thanks to butter, cheese, souvenirs, and a few bottles to remember the trip by.
The Best Surprise? The People.
One of the most unexpected highlights wasn’t a destination at all—it was the people.
More than 40 travelers from across the United States came together for this tour. We arrived as strangers but quickly became friends, sharing stories, laughs, adventures, and countless unforgettable memories throughout the week.
A huge thank you goes to our tour guide, Michael, our coach driver Billy, and everyone at Collette Tours who made every day seamless and enjoyable.
